Week 3
target audience: The people the message is meant to appeal to.
message: Communication by words or graphics.
work ethic: Belief in value of work.
employability skills: A set of skills that are needed to obtain a certain job.
20/20 rule: You should look at least 20 feet away for 20 seconds every 20 minutes when looking at something within 2 feet away from you to prevent from damaging your eyes.
right-to-know-laws: A set of laws that guarantee you the rights to know the hazards that may be exposed to you in a workplace.



Week 4 
icon: An image that represents something and is meant to send a message. 
vector-based graphic: Vector graphics use points, lines, curves, and shapes to represent images. 
specifications of a project. Requirements of a project that are to be met. 
dialog box: A small area where words are written to provide information.
palette: A menu of colors that can be selected. 


Week 5 
guidelines: Rules and advice provided to help you stay in line. 
extensions: A part that is added to lengthen something. 
contextual menu: A menu that appears upon user interaction. 
clipping mask: Clipping your photo to get the right shape and mask to your desire.


Week 8
hue: A color or shade
primary colors: Colors that are combined to make another set of colors. Red, yellow, and blue.
secondary colors: The result of mixing to primary colors. Orange. green and purple.
tertiary colors: Result of mixing one primary color with one secondary color. Yellow-orange, red-orange, red-purple, blue-purple, blue-green, and yellow-green.
neutral colors: Result of two complementary colors. Have no hue. Black, gray, white, browns, beiges and tans.


Week 9
continuous tone image: Images that use any range of shade or tone.
resolution: The degree of detail visible.
file size: The size of a computer file usually measured in bytes.


Week 16
typography: Making and arranging types and printing them.
typeface: A particular design of type.
serif: A slight stroke off a letter.
body type: A category or physique of a letter.
display type: Large type used to headings pr advertisements, eye-catching.
reverse type: A lighter typeface on a darker background.
point size: The size of the font, measured in points.


Week
flush left: Aligning everything to the left.
flush right: Aligning everything to the right.
centered: Centers the line the words are placed on, formal.
justified: Text is aligned on the left and on the right.
small caps: Capital letters that align at the waistline.
lining: Everything is uniform, everything is aligned at the top and bottom.
non-lining: Have ascenders and descenders.
leading: The space in-between the lines of type.
margins: The white space on the sides of text, pictures, etc.
kerning: Allows you to adjust the space in between individual characters.
tracking: Allows you to adjust the space in between characters in a paragraph, sentence, etc.
concept: Something formed in one's mind.
final product: The end result.
thumbnail: A quick sketch to get your thoughts out of your head and onto paper.


Week
initial cap: Larger, decorative capital letter at the beginning of text\paragraph.
